Jodie Foster is an American actress who got her start as a child television star in a multitude of television roles. The first film role that got her noticed was that of a prostitute, a role that she played when she was only 12, in the film Taxi Driver. She received her first Oscar nomination from this movie. This launched her teenage career, landing her several lead roles in successful Disney movies. After attending Yale University, she auditioned for The Accused, a role which won her her first Oscar. She went on to receive another Oscar for her role in The Silence of the Lambs, the role she is perhaps the most famous for, and a Oscar nomination for the title character of Nell.She is slated to appear in Elysium next.
